The Atmospehre

Just Feel Good

The atmosphere of the “Post” has grown in a long family tradition. A strong, proud farmhouse with thick walls has been transformed into an extraordinary luxury hotel without giving up its authentic “country inn” charm.

The different rooms with their familiar wooden panelling, the artistically painted furniture, exquisite antiques and hunting trophies as well as the love of details ensure a true sense of place, life culture and warmth.

46 generously appointed rooms and suits are available for the guests. They are either traditional and rustic or innovative and modern. And naturally they have all class and are finely furnished. Every room is individual and decorated with a lot of love for details; state of the art technical equipment is a matter of course.

David Wagger
The New One in the Post

The tradition-steeped Hotel Gasthof Post in Lech am Arlberg does not only start with a new dining room into the winter season. The management of the kitchen is likewise placed in new - young! - hands. The 32-year old Tyrolian David Wagger will head the brigade of the Post from December onwards.

"Although I am ambitious, I am not conceited,," explains the young chef “My goal is to offer wonderfully relaxing vacation days in culinary terms to the many regular guests of the tradition-steeped property. I try to get across the pleasant feeling of having properly arrived in the lightest and most digestible manner.”

Florian Moosbrugger, who runs the house in third generation, explains: The cuisine of the Post has always understood itself as home-style cooking. Neither country-style nor hip. We have remained true to our line for decades. Our strength is reliability.“

It is not by chance that the Wiener Schnitzel of the Post is considered to be the best outside the Austrian capital. Dishes such as Beef Tartare, Tafelspitz and Kaiserschmarren are always on the menu and are perceived by the guests like »coming home«.
